Christmas Party

A snowstorm and cancelled school buses weren't enough to keep Essex Youth Centre members from attending their Christmas party on Friday, December 19. Although they cooked a turkey for lunch and served leftovers that night, it was far from ordinary.

Members also took part in a LAN party -where they play games together from separate computers. It's popular but the centre can't host the event often.

"We try and do those about two or three times a year," said EYC Executive Director, Sandy Larivee. "We have to pay for staff to be in there so it's costly - we try to do them when the kids are off school."

Members also had an all-night Batman movie marathon; watching every film from 1966's motion picture to 2008'sThe Dark Knight.

EYC's Christmas party kicked-off Christmas vacation for members and a good time was had by all.
